This is my jam right now. I rewatched this performance so many times. I also stopped my sister to get her to watch it. She side eyed me XD God that dancing…is just really amazing. SM basically nabbed the best dancers (male) from all their groups and put them into this group. Taemin and Minho (meh) from SHINee, Kai and Lay from EXO, Donghae and Eunhyuk from Super Junior, and Yunho from DBSK.
I don’t like that they put Minho in it though…I am sure he didn’t sing in ‘Spectrum’, and he is not that good of a dancer either; he was the only one who didn’t have a solo/duo performance. Kai and Lay did a duo performance but that makes sense because they’re the newest SM group and both are in EXO.
There’s a whole mashup of songs used for the dances but the one they cover is Zedd’s ‘Spectrum’. When I watched the performance the morning after SBS Gayo Daejeon aired (well, about 5 hours after Korea aired it since it was evening for them), I was thinking in my head ‘SM…PLEASE RELEASE THIS COVER OFFICIALLY’ and amazingly enough, it got released as a single that evening. I need a MV now, please XD
This was really cool. I will have to watch more, but it seemed like Minho was good enough for the group dance… and it looked like he sung. Do you think he lip synced?
Minho is not a terrible dancer but I found him unnecessary in the group. The others would have been enough. Or, add Henry from SJM instead because he’s a good dancer (like the put him in PYL Younique). Or maybe add Key rather than Minho, if they wanted a second SHINee member.
And the performance was all lipsynced for sure, so not just with Minho. What I refer to regarding the singing is in the recording. I believe only none of the rappers sang (Eunhyuk, Minho, Kai). I can clearly distinguish Donghae, Yunho, and Taemin’s voices. Lay not so much but this may be because he’s in EXO-M and his Korean is not that good.
